EPFLoffers a Summer training in Switzerland |E3 Program 2025, providing an intensive research training opportunity for bachelor’s and master’s students interested in research careers in any field of engineering, science, or technology. As an E3 intern, you will join a research group at EPFL for a period of 8 to 12 weeks during the summer months. The start and end dates are flexible to align with the academic calendar of the selected students. The dates and the internship topic will be discussed during the selection process. At EPFL, a dedicated E3 workshop and multiple social events will be organized by the E3 program, involving all interns in the program. You will receive a monthly allowance throughout the duration of the internship to cover accommodation and living costs in Switzerland.

Funding:
- Accepted students will receive a monthly living allowance of 1800 Swiss francs to cover housing and living expenses. Additionally, travel costs will be refunded upon request, subject to approval by the host lab, and a portion of the visa application costs may be covered.
Eligibility Criteria
- The intern must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at the time of application and for the entire duration of the summer internship.
- Students enrolled in PhD programs are not eligible.
- At the time of application, you must have successfully completed at least your second year in any field of engineering, science, or technology.

Selection Criteria for the Summer 2025 Training Program
The E3 program is highly selective. Once the application portal closes, host labs review the applications and may invite you for an online interview. You might be invited for an interview directly after the application deadline and until the beginning of March (at the latest). Each applicant will be notified of the selection outcome via email around mid-March 2025.
Students are selected on a competitive basis, taking the following criteria into consideration:
- You should be among the top 10% of your class with a high GPA.
- You plan to pursue PhD studies.
- Previous laboratory experience is considered an additional advantage.
- Your application materials should convince the selection committee of your excellence and passion for science.
- Your statement of purpose should reflect your ambitions, career goals, and explain your choice of host laboratories.
Note: The following institutions from North America and Singapore have a specific partnership with EPFL:
- USA:Carnegie Mellon University, Johns Hopkins University, University of California, San Diego, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
- Canada:McGill University, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, University of British Columbia.
- Singapore:Nanyang Technological University.
If you are from any of these universities, please note that you are not eligible for the E3 internship, but you can apply to the EPFL Excellence Research Internship Program instead.
