The goal of this program is to deepen knowledge of the German language, general and technical, and regional studies. In 2019, DAAD provided support in the academic and research fields to over 145,000 Germans and foreigners, as well as to EU programs. DAAD also provides support to developing countries by helping them improve their educational system and promote the German language and studies. The goal of this program is to deepen the study of the German language (general and official language) and local studies. Funding is provided to participate in language and local studies courses from recognized higher education institutions in Germany. These courses are available to students and graduates who are completing a master's degree in any discipline, with full funding provided, and the student must have a good level of German language proficiency. This program is considered an opportunity to study German in Germany for free.

Application requirements for the DAAD scholarship to study German
- Students at the undergraduate or graduate level in all disciplines can apply.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least two years of study.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Proof that you are enrolled at a university in your home country at the time of application and throughout the program.
- If you have been accepted to this program before, you must wait two years to reapply.
- Your average grade point average must be at least 80%.
Language requirements for applying for the DAAD 2024
- The study will be in German, so you must be able to understand the language.
- You must provide proof that your German language level is B1 at a minimum.
- The following types of certificates are accepted as proof of your language level: onSET-Deutsch, TestDaF, Goethe Institut Zertifikat, DSD, DSH, telc Deutsch, ÖSD-Zertifikat, baccalaureate.
- The certificate must be no more than one year old.

- You may submit an unofficial translation of non-official documents.

Notes for applying for the scholarship
- In the application form, you will be asked to choose three courses you want to study, and you must choose them all and be in different locations.
- After submitting the application form, you will not be able to change the courses again.
