Bond University places great importance on its Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and provides Fully Funded PhD Scholarships with direct financial support that includes a tuition fee waiver and living allowance. A limited number of these scholarships are offered to domestic and international students wishing to pursue their studies through a Research PhD program or a Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD).
The scholarship is awarded through a competitive process based on academic merit and research potential. TheBond University HDR Scholarship Committeemeets twice a year to decide on tuition waivers and stipends.

Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Full tuition fee waiver (100%)for up to four years.
- For international students who have already been granted a 75% faculty tuition waiver, the amount will be topped up to 100%.
- For domestic students, a full waiver is automatically granted under the RTP scheme.
- For international students who have already been granted a 75% faculty tuition waiver, the amount will be topped up to 100%.
- Annual living stipendof AUD 33,511 (for 2025), indexed annually, for up to three years, to assist with daily expenses (excluding tuition fees).
- Overseas Student Health Cover (single)for international students for four years.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold acurrent Letter of Offerfrom Bond University for admission to a Research PhD or a Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy.
- Be enrolled full-time, or convert to full-time upon receiving the scholarship.
- Complete and submit an application for admission to the program before applying for the scholarship.
- If previously unsuccessful, applicants may reapply only once with evidence of changed circumstances. Those unsuccessful twice will no longer be eligible to apply.
- Not be in receipt of another similar award or scholarship from the Australian Government to cover HDR tuition fees.
- Have an outstanding academic record and strong research potential. Note that holding a Letter of Offer does not guarantee receiving the scholarship.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents within the scholarship application form:
- Research proposal.
- Academic transcripts including grades, grading system explanation, and proof of qualification completion.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) including research publications and conference presentations (if any).
- Certificates of awards and honours.
- Two academic referee reports.
Note:Incomplete applications or applications missing required documents will not be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.
How to Apply
- First, apply foradmission to the Research PhD or Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapyprogram at Bond University through the Admissions Office.
- Once you have received yourLetter of Offer, you may submit a scholarship application.
- Admission applications may take between6 to 10 weeksto process, so it is advised to allow sufficient time before the scholarship deadline.
- Scholarship applications are submitted via the university’s online scholarship form, along with all required documents.
