UNSW Scholarships for International Students in Australia 2026

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) offers a wide range of scholarships and awards to support international students wishing to commence full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies starting from Term 1, 2026.

These UNSW scholarships may provide full or partial tuition fee coverage, or a financial allowance to assist with living and study costs.

Scholarship Details

  • Study Level: Undergraduate – Postgraduate (Coursework).
  • Funding Value: Starting from AUD 5,000 and up to full tuition fee coverage.
  • Duration: One year or for the entire program (depending on the scholarship type).
  • Residency: Open to international students only.
  • Commencement Year: Term 1, 2026.

     

Types of Scholarships and Awards that needs to be Applied For

1. International Scientia Coursework Scholarship (PUCA1025)

  • Option 1: Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of the program.
  • Option 2: AUD 20,000 per year applied directly towards tuition fees for the duration of the program.
  • Eligibility: Must commence full-time study in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UNSW (excluding UNSW Online and UNSW Canberra).

2. Lily and Dr Ben KC Chng Scholarship (UGCE1129)

  • Value: AUD 5,000 per year for the duration of the program.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must commence full-time study in the School of Built Environment.
    • Applicant must be a citizen of Singapore.
    • Must hold a diploma (or equivalent) of at least two years from one of the following Singaporean Polytechnics:
      • Nanyang Polytechnic
      • Ngee Ann Polytechnic
      • Singapore Polytechnic
      • Temasek Polytechnic
      • Republic Polytechnic

3. UNSW Law & Justice International Award (PUCA1028)

  • Value: AUD 10,000 towards tuition fees for one year.
  • Eligibility: Must commence full-time study in the Faculty of Law & Justice (LLB, JD, LLM programs).

4. UNSW Business School International Pathways Award (PUCA1023)

  • Value: AUD 15,000 towards tuition fees for one year.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must commence full-time study in UNSW Business School programs (excluding AGSM programs).
    • Applicants must not have previously undertaken any other undergraduate study.
    • Either:
      • Completion of a university pathway program from an approved partner institution, or
      • Completion of UNSW Foundation Studies (Commerce or Actuarial Commerce stream).

5. UNSW Business School International Scholarship (PUCA1024)

  • Value: AUD 5,000 applied towards tuition fees for the duration of the program.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must commence study in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program in UNSW Business School.
    • For undergraduates: Must have completed senior secondary qualifications without prior tertiary study.
    • Cannot be combined with the Pathways Award.

Types of Scholarships and Awards That Do Not Require an Application

Eligible students who have received an offer of admission from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) will be automatically considered for the following scholarships and awards, which do not require a separate application or additional supporting documents.
These scholarships and awards will be automatically granted to eligible students on the basis of the academic merit outlined in the application for admission to UNSW.

  1. Australia’s Global University Award (PUCA1026)

  • Value and Duration: $10,000 for one year.
  • Payment Method: Applied towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study.
  • Additional Criteria:
    • Must be an international student commencing full-time, on-campus study in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UNSW.
    • Excludes UNSW Online and UNSW Canberra programs.
    • Commencement: Term 1, 2026.

       

  1. UNSW College Award (PUCA1027)

  • Value and Duration: $10,000 for one year.
  • Payment Method: Applied towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study.
  • Additional Criteria:
    • Must have completed a UNSW Global Foundation Studies program (either in Sydney or offshore).
    • Must be an international student commencing full-time, on-campus study in an undergraduate program (excluding UNSW Canberra).
    • Commencement: Term 1, 2026.
  1. UNSW Masters of Laws Scholarship (PGCA1107)

  • Value and Duration: $20,000 for one year.
  • Payment Method: Applied towards tuition fees.
  • Additional Criteria:
    • Must have completed an undergraduate qualification at a member university of the Law School Global League or an approved UNSW partner institution.
    • Must be a commencing international student undertaking full-time study in the Master of Laws (LLM) program offered by the UNSW Faculty of Law and Justice.

       

  1. UNSW Articulation Scholarships (UGCA1815, UGCA1817, UGCA1818)

  • Value and Duration: $5,000 per year, paid as a stipend for the minimum duration of the program.
  • Additional Criteria:
    • Must have completed an undergraduate articulation pathway qualification from one of the following partner institutions:
      • Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE)
      • Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TI)
      • Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)
    • Must be an international student commencing full-time study in an undergraduate coursework program offered by the UNSW Faculty of Engineering.
    • Commencement: Term 3, 2026.

General Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be an international student.
  • Must have received an offer of admission from UNSW for Term 1, 2026 (by 30 October 2025):
    • Unconditional Offer, OR
    • Conditional Offer via the UNSW English Language Program (UEEC), which must be successfully completed before program commencement.
  • Year 12 applicants awaiting results or applicants applying through UAC International may apply, but the scholarship will only be awarded after receiving an unconditional offer.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed based on:

  • Academic excellence.
  • Leadership skills (in school, work, or community).
  • Extracurricular involvement such as sports, culture, volunteering, or work experience.
  • Reasons for choosing to study at UNSW.

Required Documents

Applicants must provide supporting evidence for the selection criteria, such as:

  • Academic records (high school/undergraduate transcripts).
  • Recommendation letters from schools, universities, or places of work/volunteering.
  • Certificates of leadership, volunteer, sports, or cultural activities.
  • Certificates of academic or non-academic awards.
  • Academic transcripts or pay slips (for paid work).

*All documents must be uploaded in one single PDF file via the scholarships portal.

How to Apply

  1. Create an account on the UNSW Scholarship Application Online Portal.
  2. Log in and complete the application form for scholarship PUCA1029.
  3. Upload all required documents in a single PDF file.
  4. Submit within the deadline: 1 August 2025 – 30 October 2025 (11:59 PM AEST).
    * Late applications or late submission of documents will not be accepted.
