EIT Graduate Scholarships at the University of Oxford 2026 | Fully Funded

The EIT Foundation has announced the opening of applications for the fully funded EIT Graduate Scholarships to pursue doctoral studies (DPhil/PhD) at the University of Oxford. Students participating in these scholarships will be directly involved in innovative research projects aimed at addressing global challenges through the latest technologies, with the opportunity to work with world-class experts and develop creative solutions in various fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, plant sciences, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering, chemistry, biology, and medicine.

Scholarship Details

  • Place of study: The University of Oxford, one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
  • Student requirements: Participation in EIT doctoral projects under four main themes known as Humane Endeavours:
    • Health, medical sciences, and genetic biology.
    • Food security and sustainable agriculture.
    • Clean energy generation and storage.
    • Artificial intelligence and robotics.
  • Types of scholarships available:

     

    • EIT Graduate Scholarships: For students with an outstanding academic and research record, and the ability for innovation and future leadership.
    • EIT CDT Funding: For PhD students in the Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence CDT program at the University of Oxford.

Funding Provided

The scholarship is fully funded and includes:

  • Full waiver of tuition fees at the University of Oxford.
  • A generous monthly stipend covering living and accommodation costs.
  • Additional funding covering: travel, programming, housing, and living expenses.

In other words: fully funded study + fully funded training/research.

Selection Criteria

EIT seeks students with outstanding academic and research performance, as well as a commitment to innovation and teamwork. Evaluation is based on the following pillars:

  • Alignment: Demonstrating the ability to contribute to the research project, presenting a research proposal aligned with the project’s objectives, and showing genuine interest in it.
  • Excellence: An excellent academic record (high grades, GPA ≥ 3.7/4), academic awards, and outstanding research contributions.
  • Innovation: Published peer-reviewed research, patents, or participation in advanced research projects.
  • Collaboration: Experience in group research, co-authored publications, or organizing academic events.
  • Tenacity: Ability to complete research projects despite challenges, research continuity, success in obtaining grants or funding.
  • Integrity: Commitment to academic transparency and ethics, supported by recommendations or leadership roles.

How to Apply

  • Applications are submitted through the EIT online portal.
  • Applicants must carefully read the eligibility criteria and selection standards before starting the application.
  • After preliminary acceptance, candidates must apply separately to the University of Oxford through its official admission system.

Application Timeline

  • Opening of applications: 1 September 2025.
  • First deadline: 1 October 2025 → Preliminary results announced in December 2025.
  • Second deadline: 1 December 2025 → Results announced in January 2026.
  • Third (final) deadline: 1 February 2026 → Results announced in March 2026.
  • Final list of accepted candidates: April 2026.
  • Start of studies: October 2026 at the University of Oxford.

Important Note: It is recommended to apply by the first deadline (1 October 2025) due to the high level of competition and the possibility of early closure once places are filled.
