Funding and Benefits
The fellowship provides financial and logistical support that includes:
- Amonthly stipend of €3,300for six months (with the possibility of a shorter period of at least three months in exceptional cases).

Who Can Apply?
Applications are welcome fromoutstanding researchersin the fields ofhumanities, political and social sciences, education, or law, who propose a project clearly situated within the field ofpeace education.
The fellowship also welcomesdistinguished practitionersin peace education who possess substantialinternational experiencein fields such as journalism, government, or NGO management.
General Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstratedexceptional academic or professional achievementsin their field.
- Acombination of academic excellence and practical field experience.
- At least five years of advanced professional experiencein peace education.
- Proof that their previous work or projects havehad a significant impactin the field.
- Excellent command of the English language.
Obligations of the Senior Fellow
During the fellowship period, the Senior Fellow is expected to:
- Conduct aresearch or practice-based projectin the field ofeducation for sustainable peace, preferably focusing oneducational mediaand curriculum development in transitional societies.
- Contribute to the conceptual design of the program’s annual conferencein collaboration with the Georg Arnhold Program coordinator.
- Present their research projectat a GEI research colloquium.
- Reside in Germanyfor the full duration of the fellowship and participate in the institute’s daily activities.
- Publish the project resultswithin one year after the fellowship concludes.
Application and Selection Procedure
The application and selection process consists offive main stages:
1. Online Application
Applicants must complete theonline application formand attach aproject summary of up to 1,000 words, following the guiding questions provided in the form.
2. Pre-selection at GEI
An academic committee at the GEI will conduct aninitial reviewof eligible applications and projects. Up toten applicationswill be forwarded to the Academic Advisory Board.
3. Shortlisting
TheAcademic Advisory Board of the Georg Arnhold Programwill shortlistthree top candidatesfor the final stage.
4. Submission of Full Proposal
Thethree shortlisted candidateswill be invited to submit adetailed project proposal (maximum 25 pages), along with ashort CV and a list of publications, via email.
The proposal should includeevidence of practical impactin peace education (e.g., frequently cited publications, project websites, success stories, etc.).
5. Final Selection
The shortlisted candidates will be invited to anonline interviewwith the Academic Advisory Board during its annual meeting.
Thefinal fellowwill be selected following these interviews.
