Summer Internship:

Every summer, selected scholars participate in a 10-week research internship led by EIT. These projects aim to develop innovative solutions to major global challenges across four key areas:

  1. Health and Medical Sciences
  2. Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture
  3. Clean Energy and Climate Change
  4. Government Innovation in the Age of AI

Projects span disciplines including AI, data science, economics, politics, biology, engineering, chemistry, physics, medicine, law, and more.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A high school qualification recognized by the University of Oxford
  • Meeting academic entry requirements for your chosen course
  • Meeting Oxford’s English language proficiency requirements
  • Proven academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to innovation and collaboration

Selection Criteria:

  • Alignment: Demonstrated interest or experience in one of the four focus areas of the scholarship
  • Excellence: Outstanding academic performance, awards, or research experience
  • Innovation: Creative use of technology to solve real problems — such as founding initiatives or registering patents
  • Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Tenacity: Ability to overcome personal or academic challenges
  • Integrity: Commitment to ethical behavior and transparency

Application Process:

Phase 1:

  • Submit your application via the official Ellison Scholars portal

  • Choose your intended course of study
  • Answer questions on diversity and inclusion
  • Submit the application

Phase 2:

  • Shortlisted semi-finalists will be guided to apply officially to the University of Oxford

Phase 3:

  • Those who receive admission to Oxford will be evaluated by the EIT Selection Committee

Phase 4:

  • Final scholars will be announced and prepared for their journey to Oxford in October 2026
