The Fulbright Egypt Commission announces the opening of applications for theHubert H. Humphrey Fellowship 2026–2027. This is anon-degreeprogram aimed at mid-career professionals, offering one year of academic study (non-degree) and professional training at a prestigious U.S. university.

The fellowship includes a variety of activities such as attending conferences, hands-on professional training, networking events, and interaction with American academic experts.

Fellowship Details

Granting Institution:
Fulbright Commission in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State, and implemented in partnership with American universities through the global Fulbright Program.

Duration:
One academic year (non-degree)

Funding Covers:

  • Travel allowance

Eligibility Criteria

  • Egyptian nationality only.
  • Residing in Egypt throughout the application and selection period.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time professional work experience after graduation.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and involvement in managerial or legislative roles.
  • Proficiency in English demonstrated by one of the approved tests (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, etc.).

Note:If initially accepted and the applicant lacks sufficient English proficiency, an intensive 12-week English language course will be provided in the U.S.

Not eligible to apply:

  • U.S. citizens or green card holders.
  • Individuals who participated in U.S. government-funded exchange programs within the past 3 years.
  • Applicants with extended prior experience in the U.S. (more than 3 years).
  • Employees of the Fulbright Commission or the U.S. Embassy and their immediate relatives (up to the 4th degree).

  • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from the current direct supervisor)
  • Valid English language proficiency test result
  • Copies of previous J1 or J2 U.S. visas (if applicable)

    • English Proficiency Exam from an Egyptian university:Minimum score 465
  • Two recommendation letters, one of whichmust befrom your current direct supervisor
  • Scanned copy of a valid National ID
  • Recent personal photo
  • Scanned copies of previous U.S. J1 or J2 visas (if applicable)
