John Thompson Scholarship for Master’s Degree in Ireland 2025 | Fully Funded

The DCU Business School at Dublin City University has announced the opening of applications for the John Thompson Scholarship, which fully covers the tuition fees for one student only per year in the full-time MSc in Digital Marketing program.

This scholarship was established in 2008 in memory of John Thompson, one of Ireland’s leading newspaper executives, who played a key role in launching and developing several successful magazines and newspapers such as U Magazine, The Sunday World, and The Irish Farmers Journal. He also held senior leadership roles at prominent media organizations including Associated Newspapers Ireland and Independent Star Limited.

The scholarship aims to support the integration of digital marketing and digital journalism, encouraging graduates from business, journalism, and other diverse academic backgrounds to pursue the study of digital marketing with a deeper understanding of modern media.

Scholarship Details

  • Provider: DCU Business School – Dublin City University.
  • Funding: Full tuition fees covered for one student.
  • Duration: One year (full-time Master’s program).
  • Eligibility: Open to all nationalities (EU and non-EU).
  • Deadline: July 30, 2025.
  • Application Status: Currently Open.

Note: Students cannot be awarded the John Thompson Scholarship in conjunction with any other DCU Business School scholarship.

Who Can Apply?

  • Any student (EU or non-EU) intending to pursue the full-time MSc in Digital Marketing at DCU Business School.
  • Applicants must have already applied to the MSc Digital Marketing program.
  • Preference is given to applicants with an academic background in business, journalism, or related fields.

How to Apply

  1. First, apply to the MSc in Digital Marketing program at DCU Business School.
  2. After receiving an offer of admission, you may begin the scholarship application process.

Then Repare these Documents:

  • A CV.
  • A statement of motivation (max 250 words) outlining reasons for applying and suitability for the scholarship.
  • A copy of your academic transcript or final degree certificate.
