Karsh International Scholarship at Duke University 2026 | Fully Funded

The Karsh International Scholarship at Duke University was established in 2010 thanks to the generous donation of Martha L. and Bruce A. Karsh, in honor of the exceptional contributions international students make to Duke University in the United States.
The program aims to form a distinguished cohort of international students who are academically and civically engaged, and who promote interdisciplinary research and academic knowledge in the service of society.

The program currently includes students from multiple countries such as: Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, England, Ghana, India, Iran, Kenya, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Tunisia, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.

Scholarship Details

  • Provider: Duke University – USA
  • Eligible Students: International students who demonstrate verified financial need.
  • Academic Degree: Available for Bachelor's programs only, not available for Master's or Doctoral programs, and not eligible for those who have previously obtained a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Coverage:
    • Full tuition fees.
    • Room and board.
    • Mandatory fees.
    • Additional financial need that exceeds these costs.
    • Funding for three summers to support academic research, unpaid internships, or other academic opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a citizen of a country outside the United States.
  • Not eligible if holding dual citizenship including U.S. citizenship.
  • Not eligible if already holding a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate a strong academic record and verified financial need.

How to Apply

  • No separate application is required for this scholarship.
  • Applicants must apply directly to Duke University and request financial aid.
  • Then Complete the required financial aid forms via Duke University’s financial aid website.
  • Candidates cannot be nominated by a third party; the only way to be considered is by applying to the university and requesting financial assistance.

Duke University Financial Aid Application Deadlines

November 4: Early Decision Deadline

  • Complete the CSS Profile by November 4.
  • Check the applicant portal to see if additional documents are requested.
  • Submit any additional requested documents promptly.
  • Financial aid offer will be provided along with the admission offer.
  • When the FAFSA becomes available in December, complete it to receive your finalized financial aid offer in the spring with Duke’s updated cost of attendance.

February 1: Regular Decision Deadline

  • Complete both the FAFSA and CSS Profile by February 1.
  • Check the applicant portal to see if additional documents are requested.
  • Submit any additional requested documents promptly.
