The scholarship was named in honor ofProfessor Maxwell Kingin recognition of his outstanding contributions to graduate research at the university, including eight years as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training).

- Graduate research scholarship applications are submittedat the same time as your PhD course application, via themyApp Portal.
- Whether you are anew applicantor acurrently enrolled student, the same portal is used for both admission and scholarship applications.
- You donotneed to select a specific scholarship—eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
- Note:The MKS is awardedonly in the October 31 round. Applicants from earlier rounds (1–4 of the same year) will automatically be considered for nomination by the relevant faculty.
