Required Documents
- All documents must be in Chinese or English, or officially translated:
- Passport valid at least until 31 December 2026.
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates.
For graduates from China: both graduation and degree certificates.
- Transcripts for every semester.
- Two recommendation letters from professors (associate professor or above).
- PhD research proposal according to the official template.
- Language certificate (if not exempt).
- Criminal record certificate valid for 6 months.
- Supervisor acceptance letter – mandatory for PhD.
- Research achievements: publications, patents, awards… (mandatory).
- Foreigners’ physical examination form – valid for 6 months.
- Bank statement of 5000 USD.
- Any additional documents required by the university.
- Portfolio for Architecture or Design applicants.
Important Notes on Documents
Some schools require higher GPA (e.g., School of Management: 80%+).
All documents undergo electronic verification, then physical verification upon arrival.
Applicants are advised not to change their passport after applying to avoid visa document issues.
Application & Selection Procedures
Step 1 – Preparing Documents
Ensure all requirements are met and gather all required materials accurately.
Step 2 – Online Registration & Psychological Evaluation
Access the application portal: admission.nwpu.edu.cn
Fill in information and upload documents.
Pay the 600 RMB (90 USD) application fee.
Use an active email address throughout the process.
Step 3 – Document Review
Admission office reviews document validity.
Schools review academic competence within 3 days after each deadline.
Applicants are contacted via email for missing documents or updates.
Failure to respond results in withdrawal of the application.
Step 4 – Interview / Test
Interviews are conducted 7–10 days after each round closes.
Details are sent to the applicant’s email.
Results are issued one week after the interview.
Step 5 – Initial Fee Payment
Provisionally accepted applicants pay 3000 RMB as a registration deposit, refundable after on-site registration.
Step 6 – Issuing Admission Documents
- applicant will receive electronic copies of the Admission Letter and JW202 via email.
These are used to apply for the X1 student visa.
Step 7 – Registration
Online registration: early August.
On-campus registration: late August – early September 2026.
Required upon arrival: all original documents, medical exam, certificates, passport, language certificates, official forms, etc.
Failure to provide originals or inconsistencies with uploaded documents leads to cancellation of admission.
