The Union of Municipalities of Türkiye has announced the opening of applications for LOCALINTERNational Program, the distinguished international training program, which has been held annually since 2012. The program aims to introduce foreign university students and recent graduates to the fundamentals of local governance in Türkiye through practical training, field visits, and a rich cultural and social experience.

LOCALINTERNational Program Details

Organizing Institution: Union of Municipalities of Türkiye.
Program Duration: From August 31 to September 7, 2025.
Location: Turkey.
Funding: Fully funded (covers flight tickets, accommodation, meals, and internal transportation in Türkiye), visa fees are not covered.
Application Deadline: July 30, 2025.
Program Language: English.

Training Content

The program includes several training sessions, workshops, and field visits, focusing on the following topics:

Core Values of Local Governments.
Youth Participation in Local Governments.
Fund and Grant Resource Management in Municipalities.
Global and Regional Local Government Organizations.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Effective Urban Planning Elements.
International Networks and Collaborations in Local Governance.

Who Can Apply?

Foreign university students or recent graduates.
Those with a good command of English.
Applicants are also evaluated based on their academic performance and previous international experience.
