Opportunities

Launched in collaboration between the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation, the Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity program is a strategic initiative designed to tackle some of the world’s most urgent challenges by inviting innovators, academics, and entrepreneurs to deliver tangible and scalable solutions.

The program is overseen by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and follows the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as a global hub for innovation.

Opportunity Details

Funding Institution: Dubai Future Foundation in collaboration with the Hussain Sajwani Foundation - DAMAC
Program Objective: To attract pioneering prototypes and research projects and transform them into practical solutions with a global societal and environmental impact.
Key Benefits:
Project showcased among the best university innovations globally.
Project exposure in international media.
Participation in an exhibition in Dubai in November 2025.
A total prize of $100,000 for the winning researchers and field trips to support project testing.
Number of Projects Selected: 100 projects to participate in the exhibition.
Covered Costs: exhibition costs, travel and accommodation for participants (student + supervisor/university representative).
Targeted Applicants: Current university students (undergraduate or graduate) and graduates in the last two years.
Participation Fees: Participation is free.
Application Deadline: August 1, 2025.
Results Announced: October 13, 2025.

Who Can Participate?

Currently enrolled university students in any academic program (undergraduate or postgraduate).
University graduates who completed their degrees within the last two years.
Applications may be submitted by the student/graduate or by the supervising professor on their behalf.

Evaluation Criteria

Positive Social/Environmental Impact
Demonstrated potential to improve people’s lives, communities, or the planet.
Academic Rigor
Structured and research-based understanding of the problem and proposed solution.
Application of Technology
Creative and effective use of technology – either advanced (high-tech) or simple (low-tech).

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

Online Application Form: Including personal and academic details.
Detailed Project PDF: Explaining the research, methodology, process, and outcomes.
Supporting Digital Media:
- High-resolution images of the prototype/model.
- Clear, labeled diagrams illustrating your process or technology.
- Optional video showing the project in action (via YouTube or Vimeo).

Note: The application should highlight the core research, innovation process, and anticipated impact.

Selection Process

All applications will be reviewed.
100 projects will be selected to participate in the Prototypes for Humanity exhibition in Dubai, November 2025.
Selected candidates will receive an official invitation and support for travel and accommodation.

Preparing for the Exhibition

Each selected project will have a dedicated booth, designed by the organizing team.
Participants are highly encouraged to bring their latest and most advanced prototype or demo, as long as it complies with health and safety regulations.
The program team will support with guidance on transporting prototypes safely and setting them up at the exhibition.

Awards & Post-Exhibition Support

The event concludes with an Awards Ceremony, where the most impactful and innovative projects share a $100,000 prize.
Selected participants gain access to:
- Direct funding.
- Industry partnerships.
- Tailored mentorship to help transform their project into a viable startup.
