Who Can Apply?
If you're studying mathematics or computer science (or a closely related field) at these levels, you can apply:
- Undergraduate/Pre-Master:If you're currently enrolled in your studies (like a Bachelor’s or Master’s) and haven't earned a Master’s degree yet.
- Graduate PhD:If you're in a program and working toward a Ph.D.
- Postdoc:If you got your Ph.D. in the last 5 years. It's okay if you're not in a typical postdoctoral position; for instance, working in the private sector or as an Assistant Professor also qualifies. (If you got your Ph.D. more than 5 years ago, unfortunately, you can't apply.)
Important: Your academic status at the time of application submission is what matters, even if it changes later. Also, a young researcher can take part in the Heidelberg Laureate Forum only once at each academic level.

Notes:
For your visa application, HLFF will give you a visa invitation letter, travel health insurance, and hotel confirmation letter once you finish registering online for HLF. We'll upload these official documents to your online profile, and they've been approved by the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt). Print them out and bring them to your appointment.
Schedule your visa appointment right after submitting your online registration. Don't wait until you have all the documents from HLFF! Visa appointments can have long waiting times, and processing takes time, so it's best not to delay.
