Overview
The Z Zurich Foundation helps make better futures for vulnerable people. Our main focus is preventing problems. We work on three important things: dealing with climate change, making mental health better, and making society fair for everyone. These are big issues that affect many people and communities.
We want to support communities that are struggling because of changes in the weather. We are also creating a global group that cares about the mental health of young people. We want to give young people the skills and help they need to succeed. We think that making connections between people who know how to help and those who need help is the key to a better future. That's why we support leaders who are making a real difference, especially at the One Young World Summit.
The Z Zurich Foundation Scholarship 2024 will let 30 young leaders join the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada, from September 18 to 21. These leaders are working on projects that focus on preventing mental health issues, dealing with climate change, or making society fair through education, jobs, or starting businesses. If you're a young leader working on these things, this scholarship could be for you.
Scholars chosen for the Z Zurich Foundation Scholarship will receive the following benefits:
- Entry to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal.
- Participation in additional scholarship programs organized by Z Zurich Foundation. These programs may involve sessions before and after the Summit, giving scholars the chance to meet and learn from the broader Z Zurich Foundation team. There will also be a special day focused on making a positive impact on Sunday, September 22, during the conference week.
- Accommodation in a hotel in Montréal from September 17 to 23 (inclusive).
- Round-trip air travel.
- Catering, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Ground transportation between different venues of the Summit in Montréal.
The criteria for selecting scholars include:
- Age: Applicants should be between 18 and 30 years old during the One Young World Summit in 2024.
- Passion: Applicants should have a strong interest in both local and global issues.
- Commitment: Applicants should have a proven dedication to making positive changes.
- Collaboration: Willingness to actively engage and work with other scholarship recipients and Zurich employees participating in the Summit.
- Impact: Applicants should have demonstrated their positive impact in a field aligned with the Z Zurich Foundation's work. This includes areas such as improving mental well-being, enabling social equity, and adapting to climate change.
