Flagship Fellowship 2024

The Flagship Fellowship is a 16-week program for entrepreneurs who want to make a positive impact. It helps them improve their businesses by connecting them with a worldwide network, teaching them useful skills, and pairing them with experienced mentors. The program starts with a hands-on experience in Boulder, Colorado in August 2024. After that, the rest of the training is online. It includes top-notch teaching, dedicated mentors, and a supportive community of like-minded entrepreneurs to help participants grow their businesses and improve their lives.

Details 

 

  • Dates: The program runs from August 1st to November 12th, 2024, which is a total of 16 weeks.
    Format: It starts with a 10-day Immersive from August 1st, 2024. After that, there are virtual sessions for the next 15 weeks (requiring 8-10 hours per week).
  • In-Person Immersive: The 10-day Immersive from August 1st, 2024, involves spending 20-25 hours per week.
    Training: Each week, there are sessions led by experts covering topics like Foundations, Data & Metrics, Go-To-Market, Funding, Team Management, and Pitch.
  • Impact Series: Throughout the program, leaders, entrepreneurs, and practitioners will share their experiences and mentor the Fellows.
  • Basecamp: This is a 1-3 day Impact Workshop led by each Fellow in their community. It helps them share their work, get feedback, and network.
  • Summit: On November 12th, 2024, there will be a final event where Fellows pitch to local leaders, funders, and entrepreneurs.
    Venture Development Stipend: Some Fellows will receive $20,000 in stipends based on their progress and impact during the program.

*Fellows might be responsible for covering expenses related to transportation to and from the immersive in Boulder, Colorado and some onsite meals during the Immersive.

 

Eligibility:

Who You Are:

  1. You're either an entrepreneur or a community leader who really cares about making a positive and lasting difference in your community.
    You have a strong drive to succeed, a mindset focused on growth, and you're eager to become a better leader in your community.
  2. The best fit for this fellowship are ventures that are either at the stage where they have identified a problem and solution or where they have a product that fits well with the market. You should already have customers or people benefiting from your work, and you should be able to show both the impact you're making and some revenue.
  3. You're able to commit to the entire 16-week program, starting with the in-person Immersive in Boulder, Colorado on August 1st. We give preference to applicants who are fully committed to being actively involved in the entire program. The program's success depends on everyone being engaged and enthusiastic, ready to learn and share with others in the community.

What You Will Accomplish:

With the strong support from the Watson Institute team, you'll get a clear plan to help your work grow and make a bigger impact. You'll also organize an Impactful Workshop (called a Basecamp) in your community for the people involved in your project. You'll receive funding, guidance, and help from a team to make your vision a reality.

For impact-driven entrepreneurs in the product market fit stage with a focus on youth empowerment and / or environmental sustainability.

Jane Strode Miller Fellowship

For visionary entrepreneurs dedicated to transforming their communities, shaping innovative ventures, and driving profound impact.

Mike & Christine Miles Fellowship

For visionary entrepreneurs dedicated to transforming their communities, shaping innovative ventures, and driving profound impact.

Tech Fellowship

For game-changing entrepreneurs creating tech solutions to solve the greatest social, economic and environmental challenges in their communities and country.

Application Process:

  • Application Submission: Fill out the online application, which should take about 45 minutes. The priority deadline is June 1st, 2024. After that, applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until all spots are filled.
  • First Round Review: Our Admissions Committee carefully examines all applications, looking for strong leaders and ventures that are both innovative and able to grow. Applications submitted after the deadline will be reviewed as needed.
  • Interview: If your application stands out, you'll be invited to a 20-minute one-on-one Zoom interview. This helps us understand your reasons for applying and learn more about your project.
    Admissions Committee Review: The best applications will be reviewed by our external Admissions Committee for final selection.
  • Acceptance Notifications: You'll be notified of acceptance no later than June 27th, 2024.
  • Confirm & Enroll: To finalize your enrollment, confirm your commitment to the program. Once confirmed, you'll be invited to a "Meet the Cohort Webinar" before the program starts on August 1st, 2024.
