The Global Leadership Challenge (GLC) is a joint global initiative between the University of Oxford and the St. Gallen Symposium, aiming to empower a new generation of responsible young leaders.
The program will be held from 11–15 December 2025, where participants will work together on real-world challenges defined by the initiative’s partners, with a strong focus on responsible leadership and sustainability.
Program Details
- Number of participants: 100 young leaders selected from across the globe.
- Duration: 5 intensive days (11–15 December 2025).
- Format: Participation is possible virtually from anywhere in the world.
- Experience: The program includes character-building education sessions, intergenerational dialogues, and the development of impactful projects that address pressing global challenges.
Among the challenges participants will work on:
- Schwarz Group Challenge: “Sustainable Living at Scale” — focusing on innovative solutions that make everyday life healthier and more sustainable for millions of customers, while remaining accessible and affordable.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program, OR be a young professional aged between 21–30 years.
- Have completed their undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree.
- Demonstrate a commitment to responsible leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience.
- Commit to active participation during the program (five half-days from 11–15 December 2025).
- Full participation is mandatory in order to receive the Certificate of Achievement.
- Important Note: The program is open to applicants from all academic disciplines and from all countries worldwide.

Questions
- Suggest a keynote speaker who could inspire global leaders to act responsibly.
- Record a video (max. 40 seconds, in English) delivering a message that inspires global leaders to practice responsible leadership.
- Provide one concrete example (max. 50 words) of how you personally have practiced responsible leadership in your life.
