The Maxwell King PhD Scholarship (MKS) is one of the most prestigious scholarships offered by Monash University in Australia. The scholarship was named in honor of Professor Maxwell King in recognition of his outstanding contributions to graduate research at the university, including eight years as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training).

- An Australian permanent resident.
- An Australian humanitarian visa holder.

- Meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements.
- Meet Monash English language proficiency requirements.
- Students enrolled in Joint Research Awards are also eligible, provided Monash University is the home institution.

How to Apply
- Graduate research scholarship applications are submitted at the same time as your PhD course application, via the myApp Portal.
- Whether you are a new applicant or a currently enrolled student, the same portal is used for both admission and scholarship applications.
- You do not need to select a specific scholarship—eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
- Note: The MKS is awarded only in the October 31 round. Applicants from earlier rounds (1–4 of the same year) will automatically be considered for nomination by the relevant faculty.
- If you are a new applicant, you must first receive an invitation to apply from the relevant faculty before starting your application.
