  • The Eric and Wendy Schmidt Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto provides an annual salary of $85,000 CDN.

  7. International candidates must have completed their PhD prior to the fellowship start date, while Canadian citizens and permanent residents must have completed their PhD within 6 months of the start date.
  8. No simultaneous holding of another Postdoctoral Fellowship alongside the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship. Resignation from any current Postdoctoral Fellowship is required prior to accepting the award.
  9. Possession of a degree in a natural sciences or engineering (NSE) discipline, which includes computer science and mathematics. The NSERC Research Subject Codes for NSE Discipline information can be referred to for further details.
  10. Supervisor requirement: The primary supervisor must hold a full-time budgetary or status-only appointment at the University of Toronto. If the primary supervisor lacks expertise in AI, a co-supervisor with AI expertise is mandatory.
