The Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) is now accepting applications for the Taiwan Ministry of Education Scholarship, designed for out standing international students (excluding those from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau). This prestigious, fully funded scholarship aims to promote academic excellence, cross-cultural communication, and global friendships by supporting students in pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Taiwan.

The scholarship covers various academic fields, including science, technology, engineering, arts, social sciences, and more, making it one of the most comprehensive scholarship opportunities for international students.

Taiwan Scholarship Benefits

Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees:

- The MOE covers up to NTD 40,000 per semester for tuition and miscellaneous expenses.
- If expenses exceed this amount, the student will cover the difference.
- Miscellaneous expenses do not include administrative fees, thesis supervision, insurance, accommodation, or internet access.

Additional Discounts:

- Some universities may offer additional discounts, which are reported annually to the MOE.

Scholarship Duration

Total Duration: Up to 5 years per individual.
Undergraduate Programs: Maximum 4 years.
Master’s Programs: Maximum 2 years.
Doctoral Programs: Maximum 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a foreign national with a high school diploma or a post-secondary degree.
Must have an excellent academic record and good moral character.

Ineligible Applicants:

ROC nationals or overseas Chinese students.
Students currently enrolled in a Taiwanese university.
Applicants who have previously studied in Taiwan for the same degree level.
Exchange or dual/joint degree students.
Individuals who have previously received a Taiwan Scholarship for 5 years in total.
Recipients of other Taiwan government scholarships (except for university-specific subsidies for excess tuition).
Individuals who had a Taiwan Scholarship or MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship revoked.
