Since its establishment in 1944 as part of the United Nations system, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has played a crucial role in promoting the well-being of the global economy. Its primary objective is to ensure the stability of the international monetary system, which encompasses exchange rates and international payments. This system enables countries and their citizens to engage in trade and purchase goods and services from one another. Maintaining this stability is vital for sustainable economic growth and the improvement of living standards worldwide. To prevent crises and uphold stability in the international monetary system, the IMF engages in surveillance activities, closely monitoring economic and financial developments at the national, regional, and global levels. Based on its assessments, the IMF offers guidance and recommendations to its 190 member countries, encouraging them to implement policies that foster economic stability, reduce their susceptibility to economic and financial crises, and ultimately enhance living standards for their populations. Furthermore, the IMF serves as a platform for its diverse global membership to engage in discussions regarding national, regional, and global implications of their policies. It provides a forum for countries to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collaborate on addressing common challenges
