They provide food assistance to save lives in emergencies, and work towards building a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people affected by conflict, disasters, and climate change. The duties and responsibilities of the role include monitoring and reporting daily press and media relevant to WFP’s engagement in Canada, selecting and posting social media content in French and English on WFP Canada’s social media accounts, tracking social media engagement indicators, supporting the planning process for WFP events in Canada, translating communication material from English to French, tracking engagement with journalists and media outlets, and integrating a gender equality lens in social media and communication materials.

Benefits
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month.
- WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a recognized university program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, or related fields
- Should have attended a university course within the past year
- Excellent command of both French and English is necessary
- Should be proficient in using MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge and experience with corporate social media and image software are beneficial
Required Soft Skills/WFP Competencies:
- Must be professional, hardworking, dependable, and respectful
- Must have good communication skills, both oral and written, and be able to work independently
- Should be able to create clear and concise written materials in a fast-paced environment
- Should have an understanding of Canadian values and bilingualism
Working Languages:
- Must have a good working knowledge of English and French, with a minimum B level in French.
