Volunteering in Europe with funds to travel abroad to Greece.
Opportunity Overview
As part of our youth-focused strategy (2021-2023), IA’s objectives as the lead organization in the ESC aim to promote mutual empowerment between volunteers and the organization. This includes engaging youth in sociopolitical dialogue to increase their effectiveness in influencing decision making, empowering them by providing training and skills development to increase employment opportunities, and promoting intercultural understanding by confronting interpersonal and intergroup stereotypes. The workload for volunteers is predefined by a detailed schedule for each project, which typically involves 6 working hours per day, 5 days a week, and 2 days off per month and on national holidays. The schedule is designed to meet the specific learning needs of volunteers, fulfill project objectives, and enable their personal and professional development.
Participants will undergo Inter Alia Council of Members’ curriculum and Greek National Agency’s on-arrival and mid-term training. Preparatory training before departure will also be provided to help volunteers cope with cultural differences and minimize culture shock. New staff members working with volunteers will also receive similar training.
