Postdoctoral Fellowships in Switzerland

The ETH Zurich Postdoctoral Fellowship program, known as ETH Fellows, provides support to incoming postdoctoral researchers joining ETH Zurich. The initiative aims to nurture young researchers who have already displayed remarkable scientific achievements early in their careers.

Applicants are required to collaborate with a potential mentor who is an ETH Zurich professor and willing to guide the fellow. Each professor is allowed to endorse only one candidate during each assessment cycle. The relationship between the host (research group) and the ETH Fellow should exhibit strong and convincing synergies. Postdoctoral fellowships in Switzerland are designed to offer initial aid in achieving academic autonomy, thus giving preference to candidates proposing their own research projects. Consequently, it is crucial for applicants to generate their own concepts and compose the application themselves, and prior close collaboration between the applicant and mentor is discouraged.
