Overview about Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD):
The Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD) is a collaborative endeavor between the Max-Planck Society and the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), which is recognized as one of Germany's eleven Excellence Universities. Established in 2010 by the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS), the initiative received generous support from the Saxon State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts, the BMBF, and the Klaus Tschira Stiftung. The foundation of the center is rooted in the cooperative interdisciplinary research program initiated by MPI-CBG and MPI-PKS.
In addition to its research undertakings, the center administers a program to fund Ph.D. studies known as the International Max Planck Research School for Cell, Developmental and Systems Biology (IMPRS-CellDevoSys). Furthermore, the CSBD provides opportunities for postdoctoral researchers through its ELBE Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Faculty Program.
